Terms of Use

Last updated: 27 June 2026

1. About this site

CompareElectricity.ie (“we”, “us”, “the site”) is an independent electricity and gas tariff comparison tool for Irish households. We are not a supplier, broker, or switching service. We do not sell electricity or gas, and we do not process switches on your behalf.

2. Information only

All tariff data, cost calculations, and comparisons on this site are provided for informational purposes only. While we make every effort to keep rates accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of any information displayed. Tariff rates can change at any time — always verify current rates directly with your chosen supplier before making a switching decision.

3. No financial advice

Nothing on this site constitutes financial, legal, or professional advice. Cost estimates are based on the usage figures you provide and the rates we have recorded. Your actual bill will depend on your real consumption, your meter type, your region, and any terms specific to your contract with your supplier.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, CompareElectricity.ie shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from your use of or reliance on information published on this site. This includes, without limitation, any indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, or wasted expenditure — whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise.

5. Intellectual property

All content on this site — including text, design, code, and graphics — is owned by CompareElectricity.ie unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or republish any content without our written permission. Supplier names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

6. External links

This site may contain links to supplier websites or other external resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any external site. Links to supplier websites may include UTM tracking parameters for our own analytics — no supplier pays us for referrals.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

9. Contact
